saturday oh saturday

Today I recorded sketches in the studio.
I was mildly frustrated as i’m not used to working with a team and find i generally like these types of things ‘My Way’. :)

As well i’m not used to working with such experienced, classically trained musicians. Battled some slight feelings of inadequacy but as a good friend pointed out - they wanna work with you for a reason so shut up and do it. (i love my friends)
I have 6 new songs to write for - in a very different genres. I like the challenge.

There are a few projects i’m working on and features etc. It’s overwhelming at times because i want to do a great job on everything and i’m so thankful that people I respect want to work with me, such amazingly talented people at that. Preparing myself to be busy. I like busy - right now my head is spinning a little bit, there’s so much to be done and so much i want to do.

Days like this I think about all the positive recognition and encouragement i’ve received in the last 2 yrs and i’m filled with appreciation and i’m simply thankful to be alive and to be free to live loving music.

This year has sucked so far in terms of plans not going through, I can’t lie. There has been some major emotional upheavals. But so many other great opportunities have popped up, i’m still smiling. I need to travel again though, get my feet on foreign ground and test my resilience and drive. No so much a test as simply exercising it. Use it or lose it kinda, keep it moving and do and see all you can.

I’m also coming terms with some people being hella unreliable and even a bit shady but thankfully my encounters with those people are usually few and far between and BRIEF. I keep it brief.

People/things I want to thank today are: Gerard Roberts (true homie) Mike, Shanna, Nadine, Sage (good talks) Lloye (an amazing mind) Carlos Pinto, (dunno really, there’s just something about you I like! - i think it’s your sincerity and open-mindedness) mfp - your email really encouraged me, you’re a really kind person.
